ETG Podcast: Episode 18

Before I get started, I want thank all of Adrienne’s readers who took the time to visit my blog when she wrote her guest post for me in April and who are back again today to support her. Now, I would like to do something for her readers. You will find the details at the end of this post!

In my blogging journey thus far, I’ve come across several different types of people. And while I enjoy networking and chatting with most, there is one type of blogger that I like the most.

I’m talking about the ones who become a friend after your first online conversation. The ones who will send you emails asking if they can help you in any way. The ones who leave comments that are longer than your actual blog post. The ones who are a constant source of support for you.

I’m talking about a blogger like Adrienne Smith, who runs her Internet marketing blog at AdrienneSmith.net.

For those of you who are familiar with her, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You see, recently I’ve begun to fully understand that blogging is so much more than just trying to set up sales funnels, get the most Twitter followers, or building a huge email list.

It’s about people. It’s about creating friendships and connecting with other like minded individuals across the world. As I learned from Marcus Sheridan, blogging is all about relationships.

Adrienne has done an incredible job using this approach. She has made many friends across the blogoshpere, is a master of leaving incredible comments, and has a highly engaged community of readers.

Adrienne and I have connected quite a few times and I knew I really wanted to interview her once I saw what she had built with her blog. In addition:

  1. She is a master networker and understands the power of building relationships
  2. She has built an outstanding community on her blog
  3. She is able to support herself as a full-time Internet marketer/blogger
  4. She LOVES what she does

The funny thing is that I probably never would have found her if she hadn’t reached out and started leaving (awesome) comments on my blog. After visiting her site and seeing what she was up to, I asked her to write a guest post for me to share her story.

Well her post, Finally Living For Me, almost crashed my server with the 160 comments she got from it! Needless to say, I was blown away by how supportive her community was.

In my opinion, this is what we as bloggers should be striving for. Don’t we all want to engage more with our readers? Don’t we want to get quality feedback on our work? Don’t we want to have friends who will support us? Of course we do.

During our interview, we chatted about a number of things, including:

  • One key reason that people aren’t leaving comments on your blog
  • The reason she spends so much time educating herself
  • The power of helping unconditionally

In my experience, finding someone like Adrienne to be in your corner is invaluable. I’ve been very fortunate to become friends with her and know that her support is always there if I need it.

Thanks again Adrienne and I know your blog and business are going to be HUGE someday!

And don’t forget to subscribe to my Podcast in iTunes. I’ve got a lot more interviews coming your way!

p.s. Adrienne promised me that this post would get more comments than her guest post here, so please leave a comment for her! 161 or bust!

The Giveaway!

As promised, I have something for Adrienne’s loyal supporters and it’s a truly awesome product!

If you’ve read my blog before, you probably have seen me mention Jacob Sokol from Sensophy.com. Jacob is a highly passionate guy who writes about creating and living an extraordinary life or as he calls it “living on purpose”.

If you aren’t familiar with his work, please visit his blog and check it out. He’s a great guy who is all about helping others find and live their purpose. He does some pretty amazing things over there and has inspired me on many occasions.

Jacob is launching an incredible product next week called “Living On Purpose-An Uncommon Guide To Finding, Living, and Rocking Your Life’s Purpose“.

This product will retail for around $100 and includes a TON of awesome stuff, including a 150 page eBook, the audio and video version of the eBook, 35 in depth exercise worksheets, and 10 interviews with “on purpose” people.

I’ve read through it and it’s an exceptional product. No joke.

I have 1 copy of his product to give away and here’s what you need to do in order to be eligible to win:

  1. Leave a comment on this post, preferably after you listen to the Podcast. Adrienne and I want to hear your thoughts about the interview.
  2. For anyone to win, there must be at least 100 comments total! That includes Adrienne’s and mine πŸ™‚
  3. I will use random.org to select a winner and I will announce it on Wednesday 8/31.

Thanks for your support and good luck!
