Before I get started, I want thank all of Adrienne’s readers who took the time to visit my blog when she wrote her guest post for me in April and who are back again today to support her. Now, I would like to do something for her readers. You will find the details at the end of this post!
In my blogging journey thus far, I’ve come across several different types of people. And while I enjoy networking and chatting with most, there is one type of blogger that I like the most.
I’m talking about the ones who become a friend after your first online conversation. The ones who will send you emails asking if they can help you in any way. The ones who leave comments that are longer than your actual blog post. The ones who are a constant source of support for you.
I’m talking about a blogger like Adrienne Smith, who runs her Internet marketing blog at AdrienneSmith.net.
For those of you who are familiar with her, you know exactly what I’m talking about. You see, recently I’ve begun to fully understand that blogging is so much more than just trying to set up sales funnels, get the most Twitter followers, or building a huge email list.
It’s about people. It’s about creating friendships and connecting with other like minded individuals across the world. As I learned from Marcus Sheridan, blogging is all about relationships.
Adrienne has done an incredible job using this approach. She has made many friends across the blogoshpere, is a master of leaving incredible comments, and has a highly engaged community of readers.
Adrienne and I have connected quite a few times and I knew I really wanted to interview her once I saw what she had built with her blog. In addition:
- She is a master networker and understands the power of building relationships
- She has built an outstanding community on her blog
- She is able to support herself as a full-time Internet marketer/blogger
- She LOVES what she does
The funny thing is that I probably never would have found her if she hadn’t reached out and started leaving (awesome) comments on my blog. After visiting her site and seeing what she was up to, I asked her to write a guest post for me to share her story.
Well her post, Finally Living For Me, almost crashed my server with the 160 comments she got from it! Needless to say, I was blown away by how supportive her community was.
In my opinion, this is what we as bloggers should be striving for. Don’t we all want to engage more with our readers? Don’t we want to get quality feedback on our work? Don’t we want to have friends who will support us? Of course we do.
During our interview, we chatted about a number of things, including:
- One key reason that people aren’t leaving comments on your blog
- The reason she spends so much time educating herself
- The power of helping unconditionally
In my experience, finding someone like Adrienne to be in your corner is invaluable. I’ve been very fortunate to become friends with her and know that her support is always there if I need it.
Thanks again Adrienne and I know your blog and business are going to be HUGE someday!
And don’t forget to subscribe to my Podcast in iTunes. I’ve got a lot more interviews coming your way!
p.s. Adrienne promised me that this post would get more comments than her guest post here, so please leave a comment for her! 161 or bust!
The Giveaway!
As promised, I have something for Adrienne’s loyal supporters and it’s a truly awesome product!
If you’ve read my blog before, you probably have seen me mention Jacob Sokol from Sensophy.com. Jacob is a highly passionate guy who writes about creating and living an extraordinary life or as he calls it “living on purpose”.
If you aren’t familiar with his work, please visit his blog and check it out. He’s a great guy who is all about helping others find and live their purpose. He does some pretty amazing things over there and has inspired me on many occasions.
Jacob is launching an incredible product next week called “Living On Purpose-An Uncommon Guide To Finding, Living, and Rocking Your Life’s Purpose“.
This product will retail for around $100 and includes a TON of awesome stuff, including a 150 page eBook, the audio and video version of the eBook, 35 in depth exercise worksheets, and 10 interviews with “on purpose” people.
I’ve read through it and it’s an exceptional product. No joke.
I have 1 copy of his product to give away and here’s what you need to do in order to be eligible to win:
- Leave a comment on this post, preferably after you listen to the Podcast. Adrienne and I want to hear your thoughts about the interview.
- For anyone to win, there must be at least 100 comments total! That includes Adrienne’s and mine π
- I will use random.org to select a winner and I will announce it on Wednesday 8/31.
Thanks for your support and good luck!

Adrienne
Hey Steve,
Well my friend, not bad! I was nervous and I did a lot of those ums throughout this interview but overall I think I did okay!
Thank you SO much for this opportunity. I’m really enjoying this overall experience and I continue to blame you for the beginning of this particular journey. Had it not been for you, I may have never ventured out into the guest posting arena. But you made me step outside my comfort zone and just go for it. So I definitely have you to thank for that.
Great job and thank you for offering both of our readers this awesome information. That is just so very thoughtful of you and I have no doubt whoever ends up getting their hands on this will be pleasantly pleased. Sounds like a wonderful product.
Okay, now I’m off to gathering up my blogging buddies to see if I can top that comment number you’ve challenged me to. Off I go! π
Have a wonderful day my friend and you definitely know we’ll be talking again soon.
Adrienne
Steve
Adrienne,
I’ve listened to the interview several times and I think you did awesome! Blogging is all about helping one another and you helped just as much as I have helped you. I love these win/win scenarios!
This is the first time I’ve given away anything on this blog so I’m excited to see the reaction. Jacob’s product is awesome, so I hope whoever wins it will make good use of it.
I think we have our work cut out for us as far as the comments. People are much more likely to comment after reading a post versus listening to the Podcast, then returning to comment. We shall see!
Thanks again for doing this interview π

Hi Adrienne & Steve,
I am a big fan of Adrienne and her blog as well and I am looking forward to this podcast interview.
It’s great to hear your success story of leaving corporate America and working for yourself.
To get up everyday and look forward to our work is what most of us are inspiring to do.
Great interview Adrienne & Steve. π
Here is to over 160 comments…
Adrienne
Hey Justin,
Thank you for that Justin, it means a lot. I hope you enjoy the podcast, it was fun making it with Steve. He makes things so easy.
Like everyone else, it was no instant and overnight success but it has afforded me to be able to work from the comfort of my own home and I really enjoy what I do. I love the people I’m able to meet each day too, you included. You have a fabulous blog and share so many awe inspiring stories with us. If anyone needs that boost to get their mindset where it needs to be, you’re the guy to help.
Appreciate your comment and thanks again for your support. Truly does mean the world to me.
Thanks Justin, now enjoy your day!
Adrienne
Bill Dorman
What is the number we need to reach……..:).
I’m listening now, are you from Texas?
I am so happy for your growth and dedication; you are doing a fantastic job.
Adrienne
lol… Hey Bill, what’s up!!!
A big number my friend, the pressure is on! Darn that Steve.
Hope you’re enjoying the podcast. Seriously… You can really tell I’m from Texas? I have to learn how to mask that now. If you put me in a crowded room and everyone’s face was covered up, as soon as I open my mouth you’ll know where I’m from.
Thanks for the comment and ongoing support. Really appreciate it Bill! Now, enjoy your day and weekend too!
Adrienne
Bill Dorman
That was pretty cool ma’am; so good to hear you and sharing the information. Thanks and onward to 170, huh?
Adrienne
Thanks Bill, glad you enjoyed it! Think I’ll get some calls after that? I think they will soon learn just how approachable I am!
Appreciate the support as always. I hope you don’t ever get tired of hearing me say that.
Deeone
Hi Steve,
I’m pretty new to the blogoshpere, but I’m connected with the lovely young lady in your podcast, Adrienne. I really enjoyed this post and the podcast. You asked incredible questions and Adrienne, you gave awesome answers.
What I learned most on this post is about feedback and comments. A lot of times I have written a post and left it right there, never asking for feedback. Not that I haven’t asked for feedback before, but a lot of times I didn’t want to hound readers into feeling obligated to do so. But now I know, it’s the only way that I’m going to get more comments.
As the old adage goes, Ask and you shall receive.
I also learned that this is a craft that you just have to keep at it; don’t give up and don’t give end. A little hard work has never hurt anyone.
So I’m very excited about my future as a blogger, even more so now that I am making such wonderful connections and networks.
All in all, I really enjoyed this post and podcast. I took the liberty of adding you to my blogroll, connecting with you on Facebook and Twitter, as well. I hope you don’t mind. Of course you don’t mind… you’re a blogger, Duh. π
I look ever so forward to learning, reading, and hearing more from you in the future. Thanks a lot for sharing this wonderful post. And thank you Adrienne for bringing it back to my attention.
Hope you all have an awesome weekend. π
Adrienne
Hi Deeone,
Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to this podcast. Since you and I just recently connected, that really means a lot.
I’m thrilled that you can learn just a little something from me that may be beneficial to your own success. I think it’s really important to just help each other out. There’s enough of everything to go around, trust me!
You will really enjoy Steve’s place, he’s a great guy always willing to help other realize that there are other people in the same boat. By learning from each other, we’ll all go higher places.
Appreciate your time and hope you are having a wonderful day!
Adrienne
Deeone
Good Morning Adrienne, It was awesome of you to tell me about it. I’m learning daily the importance of supporting one another as a blogger, and I hope to get even better at it.
Hope you had a fantastic weekend. And I look forward to seeing what the week brings from you. π Until we chat again, take care.
Steve
Hey Deeone,
Thanks so much for stopping by and supporting Adrienne. She is one awesome lady! IN the short time I’ve known her, I have learned more than a few lessons about blogging. She holds one of the keys that is vital for blogging success and that’s that fact that she actually really cares about people!
I think a lot of bloggers don’t have a genuine interest in their readers and are more so looking to build an income first. What I’ve learned from Adrienne is that your readers come first. We need to give them what they want and we need to truly care about their success, happiness, or whatever else it is we are teaching.
I look forward to seeing you around and thanks for the follows! π
Deeone
Good Morning Steve, thanks for the hearty welcome my friend.
You are super right about Adrienne being a remarkable lady. I’ve only known her for short period, and she has gone over and beyond the call of duty being a fellow blogger. It’s a pleasure to be connected to the both of you. I love the energy that you both possess and reflect through your blogs.
I hope your weekend went swell as well. And looking ever so forward to seeing what the week brings from you. π
Steve
Deeone,
My pleasure π
I really think that it’s the ones who go out of their way on a consistent basis that have the most success. Adrienne is a perfect example. It’s so easy to get caught up in your own stuff, but it’s sooo important to remember that your readers come first.
Benny
Just listened to this on the way to work. Great job to the both of you!
Adrienne definitely draws a crowds. After her guest post here and I started to get to know her I asked to do an email interview with her. The traffic that it sent for that day could not be beat for a couple months!! The power of her personality!
I’ve learned lots from just watching how she engages on other blogs. I learn from her blog and videos as well! I refer new bloggers who want tips to her blog! Just overall great person!
I do hope this gets past 170 comments! That would be insane!!
Adrienne
Hey Benny,
My dear friend Mr. Hsu, the App King!!! Yep, your talent exceeds all my expectations. You are a man of many hats now.
You are so generous and I’m so thrilled our initial meeting was here through Steve’s blog. I continue to thank him for making me step outside my box and do that guest post and it’s brought so many other things into my life as well. Your friendship for one and Steve’s too!!!
I’m always so happy when I come to your blog and see your comments climbing up and up and up. You and I are both perfect examples of what it takes to build a community of not only loyal readers but friends as well. You’ve done a great job yourself and I’m very proud of all your accomplishments to date.
I definitely have my work cut out for me and you know I do enjoy a good challenge. So, we shall see.
Thanks Benny and enjoy your weekend. Always a pleasure my friend.
Adrienne
Steve
Benny,
I still can’t believe all the comments that flooded my site those few days! I can only think of a few people (that aren’t huge) that generate that kind of support, Your interview was excellent and I’m not surprised to hear all the traffic that came as a result.
170 comments-I am ready!!
Dee Ann Rice
Adrienne & Steve
Great interview.
Steve, you had some really good and relevant questions that you asked Adrienne. You really hit on some areas that affect all of us doing internet, affiliate or network marketing.
Adrienne, you had some really good answers.
I think lots of people try their hand at internet, affiliate or network marketing and fail.
Most people want to blame something or someone else for their failure. When in reality it is them.
I love what you(Adrienne) said about getting out of our comfort zones.
In order to be an Entrepreneur we have to not only get out of our comfort zone we have to do what 90% of the population will not do. I know that is a struggle that I have. You have to put yourself on the line and not care about rejection or if other people like you.
Thanks for the great podcast. I really enjoyed hearing again what I need to hear. I think I should listen to this everyday.
Great motivation.
Dee Ann Rice
Adrienne
Hi Dee Ann,
Thanks for stopping by, glad you enjoyed the podcast. Steve did an excellent job didn’t he? Made me sound almost like a pro. He fired those questions at me and they were good ones too.
It was hard for me to get out of my comfort zone and I did take this business very personal when I first started. But I didn’t know any better either so as you learn, you grow which is a really good thing. Wouldn’t you agree?
You are a very busy woman Dee Ann, raising children and home schooling them. I’m sure as it is there aren’t enough hours in the day plus you are building a business online. See, it takes dedication and the will to succeed. Which is why I always say if we can do this, anyone can.
Glad you enjoyed the podcast and I’m pleased that you found it helpful. You know how I love hearing that.
Enjoy your day.
Adrienne
Steve
Hi there Dee Ann!
I appreciate the comment and taking the time to listen. Adrienne has been in this game for a while and I could have chatted with her for hours trying to pick her brain. Her down to earth nature and likability makes for a great conversation and it’s easy to see why she has so many fans!
Thanks and hopefully I will see you around here more often now!
bonnie squires
Hi
This was a great podcast. The information was great.
This is a great place to send new people to and i’ll be sending people here.
I’ve a friend that all ways been there for me and has
pushed me out of my comfort zone sorry many times.
I still have problems with being the first one to leave a comment on blogs, not sure why but i do.
I’ve just learned to ask people to leave a comment or any question to leave them below.
Thank you for a great podcast and learning more about you and what you do.
Bonnie Squires
Adrienne
Hi Bonnie,
Thank you for visiting today and listening to my interview. I really appreciate that.
Steve does have a great blog here and so much really great information. It’s a place where people can share their stories of escaping the corporate world.
Sounds like you have a great friend always there for you and helping you break from your normal routines as well. They are always so nice to have aren’t they?
I’m now excited when I’m the first to comment so look at it that way. When a post has a lot of comments on it, you’ll be the first one they see which will help your blog get more recognition.
Thanks again for stopping by and for your support. Always a pleasure Bonnie and hope you’ve enjoyed your day.
Adrienne
Steve
Bonnie,
Thanks, I’m glad you liked what you heard! I appreciate any referrals you send here for sure π
It’s funny (or maybe not), but for months I never asked my readers to participate in the conversation.I just assumed that people who liked what they read would jump in and leave their thoughts. Wrong!!!!
Asking good questions (that you actually want to hear the answers to) help immensely. I’m still not great at it and forget from time to time, but I have Adrienne to remind me!

Adrienne, aloha. How delightful it was to listen to you and Steve as I ate my lunch. It was like eavesdropping on a conversation between friends. Wait. That’s exactly what it was. Thanks for including me.
Though I knew your story, I did not know these other sites of yours so look forward to browsing through them. Knowing you as I do, I am sure your training site is a resource and a half.
Adrienne, because you love helping people and teaching people, you might think along the lines of:
teaching from the heart
your personal mentor
your private mentor
You are so right on the importance of consistency and that it just one of your qualities that I so admire. Adrienne, your commitment to action and to follow through is an example for all to follow. As you well know, success comes from CONSISTENTLY doing action steps every day.
Having been successfully involved in the NWM industry for almost 20 years, I believe there are only 4 reasons why people fail.
1. They pick the wrong company. While there are lots of great companies out there, if you pick one that’s going down, you’re going down with it.
2. They aren’t coachable or they don’t have access to a coach. In this day and age, even if the upline is not a proper coach, there are a wealth of resources–people & information–available online for free or for a fee. If, however, a person is not coachable, then they are in trouble. Doing this business requires learning certain skills as does most any business–doctor, lawyer, merchant, chief.
3. They don’t treat it like a business. If a person opened a restaurant, they would be there ahead of time to prep & then open for set hours. Why on earth people think they can “work” for a couple of hours, not work for weeks, work for a day then not work for months and build a business is beyond me.
4. They quit. #2 and #3 can be overcome by listening and consistent action. If people quit, then they “fail” in NWM and blame the industry.
As you can tell, I can do quite a rant on this because I have heard so many excuses and have heard repeatedly that NWM doesn’t work. Oh, really?
Something that you said at the beginning of the interview, Adrienne, is so true of who you are and what you do. You talked about your blog flowing. Because you are so centered, Adrienne, and so clearly know your values and priorities, what you do is a flow; a natural extension of your beliefs.
Your genuine love of people and desire to help them is evident in everything you do and say.
You have a rare ability to make the complex simple. Heck, even when you explain techie stuff, I understand it. Because of your attitude and your admissions of your fears/concerns, you inspire others to “go boldly where no man has gone before.”
Adrienne, seeing your smiling face be it in my comments section, your blog, twitter or facebook, always make me feel good. Beautiful lady, you light up my life and make my heart sing. Wishing you much love and aloha, Janet
Adrienne
Hey Janet,
I see you’re speeding up the process here girl.. How funny you are. I’m glad you enjoyed our conversation during your lunch. That’s kind of what I did first thing this morning. Listened to it while I ate breakfast. It was really nice and enjoyable if I do say so myself.
My training site is on my main blog, it has a tab of it’s own. I’ve only mentioned it a few times in posts and of course wrote about it when I launched it last year. I doubt you’ll learn anything new there but there is a lot of good information for beginners and others still struggling to understand how to do a lot of things online.
Those are all great taglines Janet. My problem is that people get in touch with me because they think I do one on one coaching and that’s not what I want to do. Long story behind that one but I’ve given that a go and found it wasn’t for me. But, great ideas thank you for sharing your thoughts on that.
That’s a big lesson I learned here and it’s taking consistent daily action and way beyound the 30 day mark. Forget all the hype and use some common sense. You cannot leave your day job after being in this business for 30 days. I hate that the marketers that advertise that are not telling the whole story.
Boy are you ever right about that Janet. When people say the company doesn’t matter, that’s a bunch of bull. In today’s down economy, I don’t care who you are, not every product is going to be markable and something that everyone will want. Plus if it’s on the way down and you didn’t do your research that’s definitely going to be a sour taste in your mouth.
Begin coachable is crucial because doing network marketing is not like doing sales offline. As a matter of fact, to me it’s an information business. You are providing the right information to the right people and they are making an informed decision. It’s not about selling so you need to be coachable to be able to understand how this business really works and how you can have success doing it.
You are right, a lot of people treat this like a hobby and don’t follow through with a lot of stuff and then complain to me that they aren’t making any money. Then they come up with all the excuses as to why they don’t have the time. See, I have little patience for people like that.
You always say the nicest things to me Janet. I guess that’s why I love hanging around your place too. Your belief in me makes me soar even higher and keeps me moving forward with whatever I have going. You also help me realize that what I am doing is helping others and by me just being me, I’m showing others that that’s what it takes. Just be yourself and others will connect with you.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment. I don’t know how you find the time to leave such long wonderful comments but I so admire that trait. I’m nothing compared to you but I give it my all.
Enjoy your weekend my wonderful friend. Aloha!!!

Steve, aloha. Thx so much for this wonderful interview with my dear friend Adrienne. You are a great interviewer, Steve, because you ask questions, listen and then respond to what the person has said. I so appreciate the fact that you did not talk over what Adrienne was saying as so many interviewers do.
You mentioned that some people you help don’t really know what they want. Steve, let me recommend an excellent book to you which was written years ago. What it does is help people determine their core values. Once that is done, everything else flows as it does for Miss Adrienne. She very clearly knows her core values and consistently, there’s that word again, acts in accordance with them.
The book was written by Hyrum Smith who is one of the co-founders of Frankliln Quest which became Franklin Day Planners which because Covey/Franklin Day Planners. The name of the book is “The 10 Natural Laws of Successful Time and Life Management” and it was published in 1994.
Again, Steve, thx so much for interviewing our wonderful mutual friend. Until next time, aloha. Janet
Steve
Hey Janet,
I just realized that I never responded to your comment!
Believe me when I say it was my pleasure interviewing Adrienne. Talk about a sweet woman π
Although I think my interviewing skills need some serious work, I do try not to interrupt my guests. After all, people download these Podcasts to listen to them, not me!
As far as the book, thanks for the recommendation. I love to read self-help type books, so I will check it out.
Thanks and Aloha to you π

Yikes! Can’t believe I forgot to comment on the topic of this interview.
It is not surprising that Adrienne is so effective at building a community because she makes everyone feel so good and so special they want to be around her.
In Hawaii we would say Adrienne No Ka Oi which means Adrienne is the Best!
Adrienne
Woman, you roar!!! You are SO forgiven because you left such wonderful comments already. You put so much time and energy into them, thank you so much for that.
Again, you’re the absolute best. π
Stan Faryna
Adrienne, I appreciate you. And I appreciate what you’re doing and saying.
Lots of wonderful take aways for anyone who wants to be a social rockstar. Here’s the top five that I think people should pay close attention to:
1. Ask for comments on your blog. “Ask and you shall receive!”
2. Connect and build relationships with people (be faithful, consistent and constant in your comments on other people’s posts, your RTs, and your email correspondence with bloggers).
3. Put in the time. It’s awesome how Adrienne can say it upfront- how it took her two years of full-time effort, learning, training, and doing “initially” uncomfortable things to make a living as a “social” professional.
4. Help people that want the help. Helping people that won’t help themselves is a waste of your time.
5. Be passionate about what you’re doing. Love what you do! Share that passion in your connecting and relationship-building!
Adrienne
Hi Stan,
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule and listening to my podcast interview. I really appreciate that.
You nailed all five my friend but then again, you are doing the same. It’s actually kind of sad but our society has become very lazy. I mean everything comes so easily for us these days with technology the way it’s evolved. So just because you can come online and build a sustaining business doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen overnight.
I spoke to a gentleman on the phone just yesterday who has been doing this for years now with much success. He and I both agreed that it all has to do with building relationships. I like to look at it this way.
You’ve decided to build your own company from scratch so who would you hire? People you know, like and trust or just random people who “say” they want to work but really deep down inside they are just lazy and looking for something to fill their time? Do you think your business is going to continue to grow and get to where you want in the fastest amount of time with people who aren’t really here to help you or them build a sustaining business? We all know the answer to that one.
Thanks again Stan, I appreciate your comment and input. Hope you enjoy your weekend.
Adrienne
Janet @ The Natural Networker
Adrienne, aloha. While I can certainly understand not wanting to do the one-on-one coaching, what exactly do you want to do?
How do we build the brand of you? How do you want people to see you what you have to offer? What’s your vision or your purpose for your blog?
Thoughts for the day. Off for a walk. Until later, aloha. Janet
Adrienne
Hey Janet,
That’s one of the reasons I took that course with Katie recently, to get all those questions answered for me. I’m heading in the direction that I want to go letting everyone know when they visit my place that I’m here to help no matter what. But because I do come across as the person people see me as, genuine and honest, I’m having people contact me to work with me which is exactly that I wanted to accomplish. So, it’s all working out really well.
Thank you for asking and taking the time to come back and comment again. I really appreciate it, you’re such a trooper…
Have a fabulous walk and enjoy your afternoon.

Vitaly Tennant
What a great interview with Adrienne! She truly is a very personable individual, and I enjoy reading her posts just like many others; due to the fact that she puts personality and engagement in all of her work. As she stated in her podcast, which makes sense as it brings interaction.
Awesome podcast filled with great insights, thank you for sharing it!
Adrienne
Hey Vitaly,
Thank you for taking the time to listen to this and I definitely appreciate all your very kind words.
I know you are dealing with a lot this weekend. Your week starts off with an earthquake and ends with a hurricane, can’t get more harrowing than that! You are a trooper my wonderful friend.
I appreciate you so very much!!! Stay safe!!
Gail
The trouble with doing online business is that you lose that daily contact with real people. Adrienne is one of those people who not only reaches out but who also lets the real human side of her shine through in her posts and comments.
It doesnβt take too long following her to feel like you are getting to know a genuine human being and not just a brand. So Adrienne when you brand yourself make sure your branding gets this side of you across.
Do more podcasts and webinars they help even more in highlighting the human side of your style and I donβt think it will take you too long to get over the nervous part. You are a natural human being so just relax and be yourself and you wonβt have any problem.
You have to start seeing yourself as the leader you are. Do exactly as you have been doing. Show that an ordinary human being has made way their way through the maze of online marketing info to find her own path. Just go for it Adrienne and your success will bring success to others who are following your journey.
Take Care Gail
Adrienne
Hey Gail,
Thanks for coming back over and commenting. I know you had some difficulty so bless your heart for your consistent effort. You are a real trooper.
I appreciate that and I’m definitely on my way with that branding thing.
That’s a great suggestion since if you can believe this or not, I’ve still never hosted my own webinar. I know, I know, there are still a lot of things I have yet to do so I appreciate your suggestion on that.
Right again, I guess I never saw myself as a leader because I’m just me. In the past I didn’t think anyone would want to learn from me but over time I see how wrong I am.
I’m still a work in progress and I’m still learning every single day. So if I can help other people learn as well, I’m thrilled about that.
Thank you so much Gail for sharing your thoughts with me. Guess I still have some work to do. π
Adrienne
Gail
We all have a little work to do Adrienne. My great grandmother told me on her 100th birthday that she was still growing up and wasnβt mature yet. Life is always a work in progress and so is business.

Hi Steve,
Thank you for this superb interview with a superb lady in the blogosphere, Ms Adrienne. I can really tell that you had fun doing the interview. You did an excellent job , probing more stories from Adrienne as her followers (that includes me!) would love to get to know her even more.
Hey Adrienne,
I love, love, love that big energy of yours! I must say that I can see you being the interviewer in the future as well. Or maybe taking it to the next level by doing video interviews… what do you think? π
‘Word’ interview is already a great platform to showcase someone, but podcasts or videos I must say truly brings out the authentic voice of a person. You are a natural, Adrienne! And I know also that Steve asked wonderful questions which allowed you to share your many interesting stories.
I completely agree that your passion is helping people, and I congratulate you for making that decision to only help people who want to be helped. It is so much fulfilling to be able to do this, instead of, as you said , draining your energy off , which may better be used for something more productive.
You know my sentiments about network marketing, and I am so glad for you, seeing the limitless potential of what this industry can offer us. I also read Janet’s comment about NWM and I loved every word she said. What I’m excited about is how you’ll generously share all your experiences doing your NWM business. I just know that you’ll be able to help a lot more people who are willing to be helped in this industry.
I had to smile when Steve asked you what your typical day is like. You , being the most organized person I probably know in the blogosphere, I believe that your cheerfulness comes from the fact that you are always happy with what you are able to accomplish in a day (which most people struggle with)..So even if at times, you feel overwhelmed, you don’t sweat the small stuff, and you always have your to-do list each day. Argh, wish I can be like you! he he.. I am slowly learning to be more organized so I can also achieve maximum productivity…
Just being yourself, is always an inspiration to many, Adrienne. Keep on shining!
Love,
Rowena

Hi Rowena,
Throwing those kind comments my way, aren’t you a sweetheart. So glad you enjoyed the interview. Wow, you’d like me to do more in this platform. Thank you for sharing that and for having such confidence in me.
I have yet to “view” myself in this light so will probably be a little slow on the draw for this one Rowena.
Steve did ask some wonderful questions and he’s such a natural at this. Now that he has 18 under his belt, even his first one went over well. He interviewed Seth Godin, can you imagine? That’s a hard guy to follow.
I agree as well, Janet was definitely right about that. Especially since she’s been in the business for over 20 years, it’s so reassuring to have her as a blogging buddy and to know that we think along the same lines. I’m glad that you are also right there with us, learning and growing and helping people as well.
Yeah, I’m a annoyingly organized. Have got my pad right here with everything written down that I need to accomplish for the day. Constant reminder of fhe important tasks so it’s extremely helpful to me. I do my best not to stress about things. I’ve definitely gotten a lot better over the years.
Thanks again Rowena for your lovely comment. It’s always so very much appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to listen to me. Always a pleasure hearing from you.
Enjoy your day and have a wonderful week.

What a wonderful attitude your great grandmother has!
Steve
Hi Rowena and thanks for this wonderful comment. With support like this, Adrienne is lucky to have you as a friend!
I too love the energy this woman gives off. It’s contagious (although you probably can’t tell from my monotone voice) π
I actually don’t care for my speaking voice and am not all that comfortable with doing interviews, but I know it’s a great medium and that people really benefit from hearing from these people and not just reading about them.
Hopefully I will see more of you around here!

Thanks for the interview, Steve and Adrienne. It’s a nice way to start out my morning – hearing Adrienne laughing. π
It’s inpsiring when someone loves what they do. I feel the same way… most days anyway. We are so fortunate!
I like that you continue to educate yourself, Adrienne. We’re never to old to learn and there are always better ways to do things.
Regarding your discussion on not finding anything online that tells you how to do something from the beginning, I would argue that there is plenty of info out there on what to do, but not everyone does the same thing to earn their online income. There are different business models. I see the problem more as one of TOO MUCH information.
I recommend people find mentors (as I know Adrienne has) whose business model is attractive to them, and learn what they can from each one.
Thanks,
Peggy
Adrienne
Hi Peggy,
Thank you for stopping by and listening to my podcast interview. I really appreciate you taking time out of your busy day.
Most days are great days and it takes a lot to dampen my spirits. π I bet the same goes for you!
You are right Peggy, there is a lot of really good information available. I think that for the people like myself, I had no idea what direction I wanted to go when I came online because I had no clue that there were so many. I mean I didn’t know the first thing about this industry or that there were so many different things you could do. So when you type in the generic term of “how to make money online” you are going to be overwhelmed at how much information there is. Which is why it’s great to talk to someone, ask plenty of questions and decide which direction you want to go. At least get a better understanding of what’s available.
Thank you again for stopping by, I really appreciate it and I also enjoy hearing what you have to share.
Now, enjoy the rest of your day!
Adrienne
Steve
Hi Peggy,
Thanks for stopping by and supporting your friend.
After I listened to the interview again, I think I misspoke about there not being anything online that shows us the exact steps we need to take to build a business. I think my though process was actually that there is no clear process as there are tons of different business models for building online businesses.
I have been torn in many directions since I started blogging. I’ve looked at Pat Flynn’s business, David Risley’s, Jonathan Mead’s, and Ash Ambirge’s. There are sooo many ways to turn your blog into a business that it’s hard to decide on one. I’ve flip flopped a number of times and still haven’t fully decided..Arghhhh
Angel
Great interview! you both are great!
I identify myself with you Adrienne when realizing how much destructive is to work offline in so many issues. There is nothing like learning how to be your own boss, and not to have to be under all these so many jerks supraordinated to you. Hey,! it is our lives,! not theirs.!
Thank both for your politeness, clarity and sense of excellent humor. Boicot-100% to rude people.
Warmly,

Hey Angel,
How are you today my wonderful friend. Thank you for taking the time to listen to my podcast interview. Glad you enjoyed it..
All I can say about working in corporate America is that 85% of the people hate their jobs. Because of that they don’t have a high work ethic and their attitudes suck. Just a whole combination of stuff. All I know is that I’m glad I escaped when I did and that I never have to return. I love being my own boss.
Thank you for your kind words Angel, I really appreciate that. Hope you are enjoying your day!
Adrienne
Steve
HI Angel,
Thanks for listening, I appreciate it! Adrienne has a ton of knowledge and it was a blast interviewing her.
Jeffrey Morgan
Hi Steve … Adrienne,
Interesting choice of topics. I really enjoyed the section on Branding.
What I found troubling about this conversation is the topic of trying to help other people who don’t want it. As a Pro-Blogger I suffer with this myself and I mean to tell you it is no fun.
I put together some smokin’ hot Blogs that people purchase and then abandon. I understand the occasional drop-out. But I see far too many that purchase and then when they realize that work is involved, give-up.
This takes a toll on me emotionally. I sometimes feel I’d be better off as a used-car salesman. I think most get some kind of use and enjoyment out of their wheels.
Any therapy by either of you would be appreciated.
Adrienne
Hey Jeffrey,
Glad you stopped by and listened to my interview.
It’s really sad to be honest with you. I mean you know me a little better now since we are blogging buddies. I really in truly do want to help people but I think this society has become so lazy that if any type of work is involved, they just aren’t interested. They don’t even want to give it a go and that just confuses me so much. I mean, why are you here then?
That’s why I said what I did about if people want to know what to do then just call me. I can help them understand everything involved when getting into this industry and then they may be able to understand the type of information they need to acquire in order to move forward. But I’m done with the hand holding. I’ll help you but you have to do the work yourself.
It’s hard but boy is it ever worth it!
Thanks Jeffrey, I appreciate your ongoing support. Now, get to work! π
Steve
Hey Jeffrey,
What exactly is your business? Do you design blogs? Are you flipping them?
In any case, people need to understand that blogging is hard work. Seriously, blogging is not a fast or easy way to make money and I think it’s getting harder and harder because so much marketing is being thrown at people all the time.
Everything is “free eBook here” or epic guide there” and I think people are getting tired of seeing it all the time. Blogging is all about relationships and building a community in my opinion. If you can successfully do that, I think things will fall into place much easier. Trying to become the next Darren Rowse is going to drive you crazy and it’s not going to happen. It’s about expectations.

It’s so easy to get stuck focusing on all of the technical aspects of blogging, and/or running a business, you forget the importance of just being yourself and connecting with others.
The last couple of podcasts I have listened to have been a big help for me. Adrienne was a joy to listen to and comes across so genuine it’s refreshing.
Keep asking good questions and having great people on!
Thanks!
Adrienne
I appreciate that Tony, that’s very nice of you to say. If you ever need any assistance with anything, please don’t be shy. Just ask and you shall receive.
Thank you!
Adrienne
Ryan
Hey Steve,
This is a great podcast. Adrienne’s one of the first people I had the pleasure to meet starting my blogging career. She’s got such a warm personality and inviting aura. A very down to earth and real person.
Great podcast, keep up the great work!
Adrienne
Ah thank you Ryan, I’m glad we’ve had the pleasure of meeting as well. Glad you enjoyed the interview. I was nervous but had a good time with it. Steve’s really great at this.
Appreciate your kind words.

Steve
Ryan,
Adrienne is Awesome! Be very thankful that you’ve met her π
She’s one of the real McCoy’s online for sure….
Tony.B
Love this lady and I ain’t surprised that you do too Steve.
Just as yourself, Adrienne hooked me from the very first post I read of hers – I wonder how many would say the same?
I find her inspiring and a woman that I’d REALLY want to live next door to.
And I think that I’m finding out that Adrienne and I have something else in common – I too want to help everybody 1 on 1 but often seems folks just don’t want to help themselves.
But that ain’t stopping me.
Cheers Steve & a BIG thanks to Adrienne too
Steve
Tony, my man!
Adrienne is awesome! Glad you found her interview here..
I’ve known her for a few years and I can tell you she is ALL about helping others. She also happens to be one of the sweetest women I know.
It’s true that many people will never help themselves, but there are plenty who will..and that’s when they need you!!
