My Story

When my wife and I separated in 2012, I was a mess. I knew it was the best decision for me and my daughters but that didn’t make it any easier. I missed seeing my girls every day and was harboring a great deal of guilt about my decision.

I remember spending night after night sitting on my couch watching the saddest, most emotionally moving movies I could find. I remember all the nights I cried myself to sleep wishing I would just feel better about things.

And to make things worse, I was still working at my desk job, which I loathed, and sitting in a cubicle every day thinking about my situation was making things almost unbearable.

I stopped exercising. I stopped eating well. I stopped going out. I basically gave up. I was going through the motions of living and nothing more.

And then that fateful call happened.

An old friend reached out to me and invited me out for a drink. And as we sat and chatted about my life and she listened patiently to my incessant rambling about how shitty my life was, she had enough.

She tore into me with a vengeance, calling bullshit on my pitiful excuses as to why I was being such a fucking wimp. She told me 2 things that snapped me out of my self pity and into reality:

  1. Your daughters need to see their father happy. Right now you are a miserable SOB and they can tell. For their sake (and yours), you need to get your fucking shit together pronto.
  2. The main source of your misery is your job. Yes you are lonely and hurting from your split, but you know it was the best thing you could have done. Quit that damn soul sucking job and get on with your life. So what if you have to struggle financially, your happiness is far more important.

I left the bar that night with a renewed sense of energy and hope. For the first time in many months, I actually felt good. And when I got home, I did something I hadn’t done in a long time; I ran.

But the story doesn’t end there. She told me that she was going to contact me every day for 2 weeks and hold me to my word that I was going to start changing my self destructive behaviors.

And she did.

Each day she held me accountable to what I wanted to accomplish. And I started to change. A little at first, then a lot. It took months of hard work and constant reminders of why I was doing it all, but it worked.

Small Changes Lead To Big Ones

Six months after that meeting,  I have done a complete 180 in my life. My friend is still in awe that I’ve been able to make such a huge shift in my life and still tells me all the time.

At first I started small. I threw out my junk food. I went to the gym for 20 minutes because my fat ass couldn’t handle any more than that. I stopped listening to Unchained Melody and that fucking song from Titanic.

And then I made some BIG changes.

I left my 11 year career in finance (you know, the one that was sucking every ounce of life from me). I started exercising again. I began doing work I love in the fitness industry and started my own freelance writing business.

And as of today, I work from home, set my own schedule, and am actually excited by what I get to do each day. I’ve surrounded myself with positive people and am striving to be a better person every single day. My outlook is far more positive and I look forward to building an incredible business here on this site.

I’m happier than I have been in a very long time, I’m in better shape than at any point in the last 15 years, and am a better father because I’m enjoying my life now and they can see and feel it.

I can honestly say that I am a new man and believe that being held accountable was the catalyst for it all.

This is why I created this program and why I honestly believe it will work.


You Can Do It. Like, No Shit

If you’re thinking this sounds all well and good but there is no way you can make these types of changes, you are wrong. Dead fucking wrong!

Believe me when I tell you that I was in a horrendous situation for years. I’m not sure I could have been any more negative and miserable if I tried. I had so many bad habits I’ve shocked myself at all the things I’ve accomplished.

And it didn’t take years of intensive work. I made HUGE changes in just a few short months. And I have no doubt that you can as well.

I know exactly what you are feeling right now. You’re stuck, hopeless, and afraid and I was too but I learned how to deal with them and use them to push me forward instead of letting them hold me back.

There are few things that you need to know straight away about what this program is and is not:

  • A place for me to hold your hand. I am here to hold you to your personal best every day. As in typical ETG style, I WILL call bullshit on you if you’re full of it.

The problem with most courses and programs is that they are one-offs. You can buy the world’s greatest eBook about personal growth, new habit forming, or  creating amazing wealth, but how much is actually applied? If you’re anything like me, the motivation from it lasts a few days and then it’s gone.

The author of the book doesn’t call you to remind you to reread it. They won’t send you a text calling you out on being lazy.

This program puts you and I in contact every day for 6 full weeks.

  • 3-30 minute (or so) Skype calls including an initial consulting/get to know you call, mid point check in call, and end of program call.
  • 6-10 minute Skype calls (one each week) to discuss updates, changes, challenges, breakthroughs, etc.
  • Daily contact in the form of email or text (whichever you prefer).
  • Unlimited access to me 24/7 via email or text. If you need help, I will be there.
  • Homework, challenges, stretches (you’ll see), and more.
